Meg Romero
Meg Romero Studio

''I spent a great deal of my youth in my father's wood box and my Aunt Anne's sewing room. When I eventually started my own design firm I was able to work with two of my favorite things: fabric and wood!''

Meg Romero combines two of her favorite things in her furniture pieces: fabric and wood. Put together, they make functional art pieces that are whimsical, bold and treasured conversation pieces.

Romero's ottomans and benches are hers from start to finish. She designs each one individually and crafts them completely by hand. Finishing touches may include hand beading, painting or the addition of fabric tassels. She also hand ties the cushion springs, which makes the furniture even more durable.

Romero also likes to make the colors, patterns and fabrics as strong as possible, giving the finished piece a look she considers "over-the-top."

"I love a surprise element in my work; something unexpected that will make you gasp or laugh out loud!"
